“Life isn’t a matter of milestones, but of moments.” -  Rose Kennedy

Dear Cedarville Students,

As years go by, and with every hurdle you may encounter, remember the importance of “moments”. Every single moment is what molds you into who you become and how you reveal yourself to others. Over time you are going to hear sayings such as “don’t take life for granted” or “seize the moment”. Without notice you will be filling every second of your days with something. You will live a busy life. That is just the way that the world seems to work. However, don’t get so caught up in working, or a task at hand, or a struggle, that you fail to realize the importance of every single second.

Regardless of the kind of day that you are having, you must be able to see the good in every situation; the good in every moment. This is not an easy task. It is easy to lose sight of the things that are important. Avoid worrying about what is next on your to-do list and take a second to appreciate the little things in life. Maintain an optimistic outlook. Above all, be the best person you can be. Every situation…every moment…will define you. Show empathy towards others, express gratitude of others, remain humble in your actions, and demonstrate what it means to have integrity. Continue to do the right thing; even when no one is watching. With each moment that passes by there is a moment that you will never get back. You are the only one who can choose to see the importance of every second that passes. You are the only one who can make those moments matter.
